Bio

Tim Contee brings a wealth of experience and a championship pedigree to the College of Southern Maryland (CSM) Men’s Basketball program as he enters his first season as an assistant coach. A proud graduate of Calvert High School (Class of 2003), Tim was a standout athlete, earning 1st Team All-SMAC honors as a junior and 2nd Team All-SMAC as a senior.

He continued his basketball journey at Prince George’s Community College, where he played under legendary coach John Wiley Sr. as a two-year starter. His performance earned him an athletic scholarship to West Virginia State University, where he contributed to a WVIAC Conference Championship and an NCAA Division II Tournament appearance during the 2006–2007 season.

Tim’s coaching career began at his alma mater, Calvert High School, where he served as an assistant boys’ basketball coach from 2009 to 2011. He then played professionally in Sweden for Brahe Basket during the 2011–2012 season. Upon returning to the U.S., Tim took over as head coach of the Calvert High School Girls Basketball team, leading them to a Maryland State Championship in 2013 and a runner-up finish in 2014. Under his leadership, the team also secured three regional championships (2013, 2014, 2020). He later coached the Calvert High School Boys team before joining the CSM Hawks coaching staff.

In addition to his coaching accomplishments, Tim is a dedicated educator. He holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s degree in special education. He currently serves as a special education teacher with Calvert County Public Schools.

Tim resides in Prince Frederick, Maryland, with his wife LaCoria and their two children, Omari and Tristyn.
