Hawks Finish Season at Region XX, MDJUCO Meet

The College of Southern Maryland men's cross country team concluded their 2019 season at the NJCAA Region XX and MCJUCO Championship at Hagerstown Community College on October 26.

Freshman Nathan Maldonado-Munoz finished the men's 8K race 43rd out of 55 overall runners with a time of 34:39.8. He finished 22nd out of 26 Region XX Division I runners, and 40th out of 50 MDJUCO runners.

Freshman Brandon Harty recorded a time of 38:29.8, which put him 50th overall. He placed 25th among Region XX Division I runners, and 46th among MDJUCO runners.

"Nate ran a solid time while Brandon started out very good, but he developed stomach cramps one-third of the way through the race and it hindered his performance," CSM head coach Ken Killion said. "To be fair, he was under the weather for about 10 days but made a valiant attempt to stick with those in front of him."

This was the last race of CSM's 2019 cross country season. "For a championship meet, everyone laid it one the line and came through knowing it was the last meet of the season," Killion said. "Everyone should be proud of how they performed."
